X Marks the Spot

I took these cute little pirates on a fun treasure hunt this week!

We stopped at Candy Island before Clover Island (pictured below).....

......then off to Sleepy Island, (the trampoline) where we got to read stories before heading to Dragon Island, not pictured.  I didn't take as many photos as I would have liked.

We ended up at Mermaid Island, where we found our giant X in the dirt and got to dig up our treasure box.

The kids were SO excited to pull the treasure chest from the ground and have actual "treasure". I'm so glad the weather  cooperated and I was able to bury the chest.

Letter I

Insects in Ice cubes....is there a better way to learn about the letter I?

Insects with Ink was a close second.

We even had a set of Identical twins..well, twin shirts that is.
....and I threw this pic in, not from the same week, but just as sweet.

Three yr class with their Insect lady bugs. We had fun learning about the life cycle of the ladybug. We thought it was interesting that a lady bug isn't red when it hatches...or that it doesn't even look close to what it does when it changes and develdeveloped.

We also made our Mothers Day cards this week.

Letter Bb

Spring time is perfect making butterflies!

My 3day class loved making patterns with our counting bears!

.....and making a bear of their own.

Ee is for Easter

The week before Easter is always so fun in preschool! There are so many fun things to do with eggs!

Hunting eggs is usually the most fun....especially if there are yummy prizes inside!

Our alphabet eggs were pretty fun too! We even had a special egg that had a little bunny instead of a letter....this was our fun prize egg.

....and of course you can't have egg activities without an egg race. This was such a good activity for skill building and balance...not to mention lots of fun!
This was such a cool eggsperiment!!  We put an egg in vinegar and then two days later got to see how the shell completely dissolved/disappeared.

The kids loved touching the slippery egg!

Kites!!!!

I didn't take very many pictures this week, but we still had lots of fun! All of the pictures are of our classes making kites. Our 3day kids got to make two different kites this week. It was even windy when they took them home so their kite strings were flying all around.

Spring has sprung

This week was all about Spring and the letter Nn.

We made a couple of different bird nests!

The kids enjoyed our nature walk the most.

We found most of the things on our list and even a few that weren't. The little black dot in the picture is a rolley polley. He was a big hit!

The girls finding flowers.....

The 3 yr class was excited to see a few spiders in the grass next to the flower bed.

We were even lucky enough to find a bird's nest!

Fun birds nest treats that Gionni brought!

Our 3day class found pictures of things that start with Nn and cut and pasted numbers 1-20. This was a great exercise for them!

More nests for snack time.

Triangle maze shape page.

One of the more fun activities of the week was forming nests and eggs out of salt clay.
